OK, Sucker - here's the deal. You just turned 55 and you're thinking about your retirement. Too bad Barney and the boys reset the clock on your 401K. Oh well, at least you'll have your Social Security check to count on. Oh, wait, the boys on Capital Hill cracked open that little piggy bank a long time ago too - maybe you shouldn't count your chickens before they hatch (Sucker). OK, so you'll be poor, but at least you'll have Medicare and Medicaid to see you through a catastrophic illnes.
Er, not so fast pal. Your trusted public-servants busted that one out a long time ago too. So now it's a major crisis they say; Medicare and Medicaid are bankrupt; it's unsustainable.
I know, I know; you paid into it your whole life and just as you're about to transition into retirement mode, they pull the net right out from under that thin little wire you've been balancing on; looks dire.
But wait, "no problem" they say; your trusty congress is on the job and they certainly won't let this huge crisis go to waste. They're gonna bust-out that unwieldy, corrupt private insurance thingy once and for all - they're gonna "fix" the system. "Trust us" they say, "you're really gonna like your new, "free" socialized health care system".
But don't look at the fine print too close Chump. You're getting old and old people on retirement incomes can't afford to pay the "protection money" that drives this gargantuan Ponzi scheme. You're a drag on the "system", pal, so your buddies on Capital Hill have put a little "language" in the bill for Suckers just like you. It involves "counseling" on your "end of life options."
Hey Chump, don't bitch - after all, it's free.
Live long and prosper, Sucker.
